After suffering power & water disruptions for decades, I'm turning concern to sheer disappointment. I went to Singapore a few times this year for medical examination of my son & mom. A country with no natural resources(land, minerals, oil, gas) & exotic/unique animals for ecotourism, it's way more advance in terms of educations, transportations, cleaniness, order & law, security(feel so safe walking down the street in S'pore even it's a foreign country to me), immigrant control, basic power & water facilities. When i look back at Sabah with land, natural resources(land, minerals, oil, gas) & exotic/unique animals for ecotourism, still it's development is way back God knows how many years! Only 1 thing comes to mind, extremely poor government. With less resources than us, Brunei gets to become a rich nation with cheap utilities, cars low taxes to the people. How come Sabah with much more resources can do better? Answer is still extremely poor government. A lot of Sabahan like myself are easy & tolerable people. I've been voting for BN all my life. No more. I don't care if the opposition is capable of doing a better job or not but i'll keep changing government until some genuine leader comes along(which i hope will be sooner than later). Lastly, God bless Sabah!

From insider info said SESB is deliberately wants to make East Coat ppl suffer bcos they against the proposed coal plant .

Today many interesting articles on SESB in most Sabah major news :
1)Daily Express : Demo unnecessary as SESB asked to resolve problem fast : CM
2)CM said in Newsabahtime " “Don’t blame the government when there is frequent power disruption in the east coast because SESB had already suggested a coal-fired power plant that would not harm the environment,”
http://www.newsabahtimes.com.my/nstweb/fullstory/31086
A coal-fired power plant that dont harm the environment - then why ppl still object and WHY SESB/TNB not go ahead ? why still want to torture the East Coat ppl .....unless this plant is a 2nd hand one from China ??? Somethings must be not right here - if SESB or CM claimed it would not harm the environment then they SHOULD have started this plant in Lahad Datu but why CM cancelled it there and NOW said its safe for Sandakan ppl ?
3) DAP apply police permit for peaceful demo on 30th Aug at 3 SESB's office - SDK/KK/Tawau .

Look like this SESB's maddness will not be solve UNLESS ppl give in for the coal plant .
Why cant they look for other alternatives ?
SESB/TNB/CM all mindset are FIXED " coal plant is the best option " .

when at office during day time, office blackout.

when go home in the evening, home blackout.

THIS IS DELIBERATE!!!

If SESB really 'CARE' about Sandakan folks, they would have tried to minimize the disruption, by at least:

1) give advanced notice of blackout times and areas;

2) STICK TO their advanced notice;

3) have NO blackout in business areas during day time/business hours, and NO blackout in residential areas during evening and night;

4) have a fair blackout schedule for the WHOLE of Sabah, not just sandakan/tawau.

for these 2 weeks, there was NO blackout in KK/West Coast at all, but there were DAILY blackouts in East Coast. WHY?!??!!

is it because:

1) SESB wants to PUNISH the East Coast for rejecting their coal power plant??

2) SESB dares not offend all the Ministers, YBs and VIPs who are living comfortably in the West Coast instead of the East Coast?!?!

SESB should explain themselves!!!!!

There are many promises that BN not keeping pledge to Sabahans. Where are the funds as promised by Pak Lah and now 1 Malaysia? Oil royalty?

State government owned 20% of SESB. So, what can state government do now to power shortage? The more you complaint, the more blackout and yet, none of the minister or YBs is willing to stand out and shout at SESB/TNB. This is our politics culture.

Lately, there are many small projects released by state government or under federal funds. Those projects are mainly kampung roads to kampung areas in Sabah. BN is now trying to lure the kampung folks as they are always not so alerts to the development of state by BN. By doing so, kampung folks thoughts BN is a good government. They also don't feel hurts as far as power shortage is concerned.

Sabahans....we have to be awake after more than 25 years bah.

Nak power atau nak BN? Sabahans...fikiran teliti.

Terima Kasih

SESB said that the power shedding was due to several independent power producers running into problems. Without providing details on which IPPs are involved, the SESB story is hard to believe. I say this because IPPs' business depends on producing and selling power to the SESB grid. They cannot be facing serious, extended problems because their business will be affected. And, if their business is being affected, how are we as consumers to believe that SESB will anytime soon resume getting power from these IPPs? And, if these IPPs continue to be down, how much worse will power shedding in Sabah become?

Mu conclusion is that SESB is facing more problems than they are willing to admit. The IPP story is a smoke screen. If the IPPs were public-listed companies, their shares would have been dumped following the sESB announcement.

mien123,

Produktiviti pekerja terjejas.

Dear Friends,
It seems that SESB is not willing to surrender its intention to implement and commission their already purchased coal plant. It is true that other country such as China having hundreds of similar plants and that is fine for a country almost half of the world.

What is happening in Sandakan now looks like the residents are being intimidated by SESB for blackout at least once every day. Could this be tantamount to threat?

If SESB can't do much, why keep monopoly?

:( Sad indeed...
